The use of an electronic portal imaging device (EPID) for dosimetric purposes requires knowledge of the detector´s dose-response behavior. The Elekta iViewGT amorphous silicon (a-Si) EPID generally exhibits a nonlinear response to radiation. Variations of EPID sensitivity with dose and dose rate, respectively, up to 10% are reported in literature 1,2. The aim of this study was to investigate the variation of the dosimetric properties of several iViewGT EPIDs and to deduce a minimum number of measurements, which are required for a complete dosimetric characterization of such devices.
