Expert Panel on Technological Advancements in the Field of Border Security and Management

This session will equip participants with an in-depth expert briefing on contemporary
trends, threats, and challenges in the field of border security and management,
focusing on those that arise from technological developments such as the use of
biometric identification and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the new realities of
migration, the nexus between transnational organized crime and terrorism and the
movement of foreign terrorist fighters and their families. Panelists representing the
mosaic spectrum of border security professionals will highlight how border security
management can adapt to these new challenges, while respecting human rights and
the rule of law.
