Beschreibung

Host specificity of P. infestans (adaptation to potato or tomato has been reported for South America (Forbes et al. 1997) and France (Lebreton and Andrivon 1998). In Austria, conventional potato production using fungicides and ecological farming that applies limited amounts of elemental copper could exert differing selection pressures on P. infestans populations. We have compared P. infestans collected in Austria from conventional and ecological potato farms and from tomato, using phenotype and molecular genotype markers.
