The Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) operates the KOMPSAT (KOrean Multi-Purpose SATellite) missions. In addition KARI collects data from other Satellites (Landsat, Envisat) at their receiving station in Daejon. The metadata information about the various satellite imagery collections available at KARI, has recently being harmonized towards ISO-19115 compatibility and consolidated in a unified Database (DB). At present, in the frame of the INFEO system upgrade, an EOLI-compatible interface is developed allowing the linkage of the KARI Metadata-DB to the eoPortal (http://catalogues.eoportal.org/). Concurrently a KOMPSAT European Cities Archive is under development at ARCS. The corresponding Metadata-Catalog is also prepared ( EOLI-conform) to be connected to the eoPortal and to be plugged into the SSE. At the Catalog Search Interface of the SSE a symbol layer (flags) from the ARCS WebMapServer (WMS) will be linked (cascaded) and overlaid with the displayed map, providing information about the location of available images. The processing of the incoming EOLI-conform data requests, the translation to the DB request, the reformatting and handing over of the results has been developed using the SSEToolbox scripting language. The experiences and problems encountered during the development phase as well as the advantages for the follow-up implementation of the KARI and ARCS Metadata-Catalogues into the SSE (Catalog Search) will be presented.| Zeitraum | 17 März 2005 |
