Abstract
Sustainability and Resilience of Economy and Society are one of the possible benefits which can result from the smart technologies on which the paradigm of “Society 5.0” is based. Smart
technologies are the drivers of economic and societal disruptive changes and a chance to shape our future in a beneficial way as enablers of a sustainable, “green” world.
The European “Green Deal” and the European Values of human rights, ethical considerations and societal inclusion are foundation for an update of the Japanese-proposed “Society 5.0” and a “European-type” of implementation of the 17 UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) as a way (contribution) to resolve the current crisis (climate change, aging society, shortage of critical resources resulting in critical dependencies, unbalanced world economy and powers). The paper will show an example which demonstrates mitigation of these risks by smart technologies and high automation including autonomous systems and building of smart environments.
