Abstract

This chapter summarizes the history of the development of the internet and thus of cyperspace, providing clarification of the terms "cyberspace", "information space" and "data space". It also highlights important technical aspects and describes the main challenge our society faces as a consequence of the continuously evolving cyberspace.
