Abstract

Monitoring the deformation of bridges with advanced Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry techniques can provide relevant information concerning their untypical behavior. The availability of Synthetic Aperture Radar images increased immensely with the launch of the Sentinel-1 satellites. This led to the development of the European Ground Motion Service, which directly provides maps of the mean deformation velocity and the corresponding displacement time series of most European countries. In this paper, we demonstrate the applicability of these datasets to observe and study the deformation of bridges in an alpine environment.
