Abstract

The quality of metabolic control in type 1 diabetic patients (DM1) on intensified insulin therapy (IIT) largely depends upon frequent blood glucose self-monitoring and the adherence to the respecting insulin dosing algorithms. In addition, the proper documentation of these parameters facilitates therapeutic decisions and might thus improve metabolic control. The aim of this pilot study was therefore the evaluation of patients' acceptance, stability and error rate of a wireless mobile based data service to submit blood glucose (BG) levels and insulin doses (ID) and its impact on glycemic control.
