Abstract

Building on the existing Protection Profile (PP) ETSI GS QKD 016 on P&M
QKD for QKD systems with balanced security requirements, a further PP has
been drafted. It covers QKD for systems with different security requirements
for transmitter and receiver modules, such as in EB and MDI QKD, and brings
support of other topologies. The chosen evaluation assurance level EAL4+ is
associated with respective profound testing (ATE) and advanced methodical
vulnerability analysis (AVA) using high attack potential.

The development of a testing & validation infrastructure for the EuroQCI
ground segment, focused on the quantum hardware of QKD devices, will
enable the respective security evaluation of devices associated with a
Security Target document claiming conformance to one of these PPs.
