Abstract

In Foresight processes both experts and decision-makers from policy, industry, research and civil society are brought together to create channels for communication and to develop a basis for shaping the future. The Foresight methodology was the guideline for the whole project and each individual methodology, like modeling, forecasting, backcasting or literature review, was considered as a part of the whole Foresight process. This chapter introduces the objective of Foresight processes and explains the techniques used within FREIGHTVISION.
