Yoo and Coggins proposed a method of multivalued image segmentation which is based on nonlinear diffusion and statistical characterization of multivalued Magnetic Resonance Tomograms. In this paper we furhter develop their approach and essentially modify the algorithm in which scale, boundary information, and probability distribution are taken into account
