Abstract

The AIOTI High-Level Architecture (HLA) Report is the outcome of comprehensive discussions of the
AIOTI WG Standardisation focusing on large-scale IoT and Edge Computing pilot deployments and
related works of the Standards Development Organisations (SDOs).
Specifically, this report presents the use of ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 within the IoT domain and proposes
different deployment options considering architectural matters related to cloud and edge
computing, Big Data, virtualization, security, privacy and (platform) interoperability.
Based on past discussions within AIOTI WG Standardisation, this Release provides enhancements on
the following new or partially developed topics, still with respect to IoT architectural concerns:
▪ ISO/IEC 30141:2024 IoT - Reference architecture
▪ Relationship to EUCloudEdgeIoT.eu Open Continuum Reference and Mapping of HLA to
Compositional view of the Continuum Reference Architecture, based on results from the
following in EUCloudEdgeIoT.eu projects: 6G-Cloud architecture, COGNIT Architecture and
CODECO Architecture
▪ Generative AI, AI Agents and Agentic AI
