    Abstract

Development and fabrication of novel nanostructures is necessary to achieve high surface enhancement factors for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERRS) measurements. For this purpose e-Beam Lithography method is used to produce homogenous nanostructures with well controlled size and shape. The heme protein cytochrome c is used as a test system to verify the suitability of the substrates for electrochemical investigations and to calculate the surface enhancement factor. Furthermore, the formation of tethered bilayer lipid membrane around pharmaceutical relevant membrane proteins will be demonstrated on top of the new substrates.
