Abstract

As the number of electric vehicles continues to grow, the installation of additional charging stations to meet the increasing
demand raises concerns about the impact on the power grid. In the ProSafE² research project, a testing device demonstrator for
periodic verification of DC electric vehicle charging stations was developed, and several field tests were conducted. The research
focused on safety-related issues as well as efficiency and power quality. This paper presents a brief overview of the safety test
results and delves deeper into the efficiency and power quality concerns, examining how the tested DC charging stations comply
with Austrian regulations.
