Abstract
reclip:century is carried out by the 4 institutions: AIT (project lead), BOKU-Met, WegCenter and ZAMG, to
conduct regional climate simulations with 10km grid spacing for the Greater Alpine Region. Hindcast and
control runs for 1961-2000 permit validation and uncertainty assessment. Four climate simulations have
been carried out for the years 2001-2050, applying two regional climate models (CCLM and MM5), driving
data come from two global circulation models (ECHAM5 and HadCM3), based on two IPCC-greenhouse
gas (GHG) emission scenarios (A1B, B1). (The current project phase 2 extends the results until 2100 and
adds one IPCC-scenario A2). The results allow reviewing effects of applying different global and regional
models and different GHG increase expectations at a regional scale. Selected data sets - gridded hourly
data for selected decades and 30-year averages of monthly and yearly means of temperature and
precipitation and elected indicators - will be made available to the public to provide data sets for climate
related research, tailored for Austria and the entire Alps.
