Abstract
This paper indicates the developed Simplified Calculation Method for Dynamic Loads caused by passing trains on rail network and the new Reiterer formula for calculating the first natural frequency of noise barriers is presented. In addition to the insufficient aerodynamic load model for noise barriers given in Eurocode 1 the Simplified Method includes the dynamic effect due to the occurring shock loading by passing trains. The dynamic factor becomes up to 3.25 in the case where the excitation frequency due to passing trains and the natural wall frequency are the same. The results of a huge measurement campaign called the Innovationsmessfahrten 2012 on the new railway track Vienna - St. Pölten are also presented and compared with loads calculated by the Simplified Method. It will be shown that the Simplified Method for Dynamic Loads caused by passing trains agrees very good to the measured realistic loads.
