Abstract
Fostering security and privacy in online interactions is
important for developers, providers, and users. Since a substantial
amount of content on the web today is developed by nonprofessionals
(e.g., teenagers, small company owners, hobbyists, etc.), it
is important to provide development guidance that is suitable
for these user groups. In this paper, we present two metapatterns
intended for novice web developers. The patterns intend
to address some of the most common issues pertaining to privacy
and security in websites and are intended to guide the reader
through the development process from a privacy- and securitycentered
perspective.
