Emerging 6G Technologies - Goals, Use Cases, and Key Radio Enablers

Activity: Talk or presentation / LectureInvited talk to industry or public institution

    Description

This presentation reviews the ongoing 6G research and standardisation process and describes the rationale for a new green 6G system. Key radio scenarios, expected use cases and key performance indicators are presented. 5G technologies and their possible extension to 6G are briefly reviewed. Three selected key 6G technologies: (1) THz, (2) distributed MIMO and (3) reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explained in detail based on AIT research results from the DEDICATE project. The talk concludes with a summary of the current state and open challenges for these 6G technologies.
