3.0 ECTS
Goals that can be achieved by using ventilation and air conditioning plants.
Dimensioning and design of parts and whole plants.
Description of thermodynamic processes, calculations of air flux and energy costs.
Integration of plants into the overall building supplies as well as planning regulation aspects.
After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
to calculate the cooling and heating loads of a building, as well as the loads for humidification and dehumidification, and coordinate these with the physical conditions of the building in order to achieve the desired operating temperatures and humidity levels in an interior space,
to design systems based on practical examples for solutions for ventilation and air-conditioning systems, e.g. for offices, garages, clean rooms, assembly rooms, fire smoke ventilation.
to design and integrate different system concepts for ventilation-supported heating and cooling using simulation methods.
to ensure indoor comfort (thermal comfort, acoustics, humidity, CO2, hygiene, fine dust).
to carry out analyses of air flows by means of flow simulations (CFD) in rooms and around buildings,
