Screaming Machines: Challenges of Handling Multiple Industrial Plants on the Shop Floor

Activity: Talk or presentation / LecturePresentation at a scientific conference / workshop

Description

In this paper, we describe worst practices in the context of workers maintaining and operating multiple autonomous machines in a production line. We discuss how the current scheduling systems and feedback mechanisms of industrial plants have the potential to distract, disrupt, and disorient maintenance workers, and provide suggestions on how these issues could be addressed in the future.
