Research interests
Dr. Peter Biegelbauer is Senior Scientist at the Center for Innovation Systems & Policy of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna. Since 2020 he has been coordinating the AIT AI Ethics Lab. He is member of both the AIT AI Sounding Board and the AIT AI Task Force.
He focuses on policy related work in fields such as innovation policy, responsible innovation and sustainability transitions, impact of new technologies on society and AI ethics, where he has coordinated a number of national and international research projects. He is involved in academic and policy work, being part of various boards and committees in several countries.
He has published more than hundred articles on policy analysis, policy evaluation, knowledge and expertise in decision-making, regulatory impact assessment and the possibilities of learning from experience.
He is teaching at the University of Vienna and the University of Applied Science Campus Vienna and holds degrees from the University of Innsbruck and Vienna, Austria, and from MIT, USA, all in political science.
