Research interests

  1. Earth-abundant materials for solar energy conversion (thin film photovoltaics, photocatalyst, photoelectrochemical water, and carbon dioxide reductions).
  2. Non-Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) electrocatalysts for fuel cell and water electrolyzer applications.
  3. Materials characterizations using Grazing Incidence X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy.
  4. Thin film synthesis using various vacuum and solution-based thin film processing.


Technical skills:

  1. Thin film materials preparation by vacuum (sputtering, evaporator, pulsed laser deposition) and non-vacuum-based (electrochemical deposition, dip coating, spin coating) processes.
  2. X-ray diffraction devices responsible person (operation, maintenance, thin film and powder samples preparation and analysis)
  3. Electrochemistry tools (potentiostat/galvanostat, photoelectrochemical cell setup).
  4. Structural, optical and electrical characterization of thin film materials (SEM, XRD, EDX, AFM, FTIR, UV-VIS, FT-Raman).
  5. Electrical and opto-electrical characterization of semiconductor devices (e.g. I-V solar simulator, Hall measurement, Four-Point Probe etc.).
  6. Ink formulation and rheological characterization (ultrasonicator, viscometer, contact angle measurement/ pendant drop.
  7. Crystallography simulation and X-ray diffractogram analysis (Topas, Match, X’Pert, Jade, FullProf, PowderCell, VESTA).
  8. Solar cell Quantum Efficiency simulation (e-ARC) and SCAPS

Non-technical skill

  1. Project management in scientific project (e.g. Austrian and SOLAR ERA NET European project framework).
  2. Chemistry laboratory regular internal audit and safety assessment.
  3. Chemistry laboratory management including toxic chemicals purchasing, handling and disposal.
  4. X-ray diffraction safety and radiation protection assessment.
  5. First-aid, safety and occupational health management.
