A Design of a General Purpose User Interface for Real-Time Embedded Systems

Research output: Chapter in Book or Conference ProceedingsConference Proceedings with Oral Presentation

Abstract

The work gives a short introduction into the main features of user interfaces suitable for real-time embedded systems. In the same context, it underlines a design for a user interface appropriate for a general usage. The proposed approach characterizes with high degree of reusability. It defines a clear abstraction between the user interaction with the embedded software and the actual application. The user obtains full access to every global variable, array or pointer defined in the embedded software. By a proposed programming style, the programmer defines indirectly the visibility and control of each variable. The result is a general purpose user interface that can be used straightforward for real-time prototyping and debugging embedded control.
