Abstract

A promising approach for further CO\low{2} reduction is the use of industrial DC grids. Renewable energy sources typically have a DC output, and the DC grid eliminates the step of converting DC to AC (for the AC grid) and then back to DC. This paper evaluates the suitability of various multi-level topologies for use as LED drivers in a DC grid.
