Abstract

In the Austrian manufacturing industry, a high proportion of the process heat demand with a temperature level 10 below 200°C is covered by fossil fuels, especially natural gas.In the CORES research project, the combination of the technologies solar thermal, photovoltaic, photovoltaic-thermal, thermal storage, waste heat recovery and heat pump to cover the process heat demand up to round 150°C is investigated and evaluated. In this contribution, acombination of these technologiesfor the generation of heat supplyof a defined process with several consumers is investigated by optimization. The optimization considersnot only investment and 15operating costs but also CO2 emissions.
