Abstract

ANSYS Conference & 29th CADFEM Users´ Meeting 2011 October 19-21, 2011 - ICS Internationales Congresscenter Stuttgart, Germany Numerische Untersuchung einer Hybrid SpaceFrame Struktur für Elektrofahrzeuge der Klasse L7e Numerical Investigation of a Hybrid SpaceFrame Structure for Electric Driven Vehicles of the L7e class Matthias Hartmann, Peter Simon, Martin Roschitz, Ziad Khalil LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen GmbH, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Ranshofen, Österreich Summary In this paper, the crash simulation of a space frame structure applied for a L7e [1] vehicle is discussed. The simulation was part of a publicly sponsored project of several partners located in Austria. The vehicle is designed with standard aluminium profiles, extruded magnesium profiles, aluminium sheet metal and casted joints made from aluminium and magnesium. To verify the crashworthiness with respect to a frontal impact, the frontal impact according to Euro NCAP [2] was simulated with LS-DYNA [3].
