Abstract
We present a monolithic integration approach for quantum-optic transmitters hosting light sources native to silicon platforms. We experimentally prove operation for polarization-based quantum key distribution by accomplishing positive key rates over metro-scale link reach, evidencing the potential of introducing quantum communication functions to commodity applications.
