Abstract

This paper focuses on a real-world patient transportation problem for the Arbeiter Samariter Bund Vienna (ASB). The main goal is to support the ASB by enhancing the quality of service and the optimization of costs, thus benefiting both patients and the ASB. This is achieved by combining methods from statistical data analysis, stochastic modelling and operations research. The overall optimization approach as well as lab evaluation results are presented.
