This Deliverable reports in detail on the specifications and technological choices of the data structure of the KNOWMAK central database, its main principles and operational
criteria, and the technical choices made regarding the design. The integration of different classical and non-classical datasets under consideration featuring different characteristics and technical specifications requires the development and implementation of an appropriate entity relationship model (ERM), ensuring fluid and
dynamic interaction with the web-based tool. In this context, we derive an appropriate data model, and propose a two-layer structure of the database, an integrative layer
for linking source datasets, and an indicators layer for indicators production. The integrative layer is designed to dynamically inter-link source datasets, both between them, and across the three integrative dimensions that are actors, topics and geography.
