Abstract

In the frame of the European project QUIESST, presented at the INTERNOISE 2010 and 2011, Work Package 4 is dealing with the performance evaluation of noise barriers investigating the relationship between laboratory and in-situ methods. In order to help manufacturers, infrastructure administrations, research centers and engineers to have more detailed information on the correlation between those methods and to win a better overview of the different products present on the market one of the most relevant tasks in this work package was the creation of a comprehensive database for the noise barriers present currently in Europe. The present paper explains the structure of the database designed and implemented during the first part of the project from a technical point of view as well as from a user´s perspective. Furthermore a first general overview of the data present at this time in the database will be shown.
