    Abstract

The number of people sufferin from dementia is increasing. It is often shown that elderly people want to live at home as long as possible. The CEC-funded project MPOWER aims to develop a platform to simplify and speed up the task of developing and deploying products and solutions for persons with cognitive disabilities and elderly. At the beginning of the project an investigation was carried out to identify user needs and user requirements in order to define areas being most important to support. This paper will present results in detail and how they will create basis for further development of technological products and solutions that aim to support older people and people with cognitive decline in their own homes
