Veränderung der sozial-räumlichen Nutzung des Shared Space Sonnenfelsplatz - anhand einer softwaregestützten Raumanalyse

The philosophy of Shared Space is from the sight of city developers and traffic planners a relatively new field of activity. Although first field reports and analyses exist, every new built Shared Space is unique and posses its own spatial, cultural and social configuration. There exists no standardized measurement tool and so after every rearrangement it has to be judged differently. The underlying paper tries to combine two different kinds of perspectives. Fundament is a survey which included the three basic topics of security, safety and attractiveness which took place right at the investigation area after the reconstruction. One of its foci was the ambitious graphical illustration of consolidated findings and the following creation of thematic maps and info graphics. Another key aspect was the comparison of existing measured data, researched through a semi automated traffic simulation model, and maps of speed and safety with the subjective statements of participants of the survey. Shared Space is not the only traffic regime that propagates social behavior, functional infrastructure and mixed traffic. Other forms are mentioned in the paper and being compared with each other. The final discussion is about if it is possible to adopt the developed method of collecting data on other Shared Space reconstructions.
